Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy

I am a qualified CBT and REBT Therapist. Following a confidential consultation appointment, therapy sessions are weekly for 50 minutes and the duration of therapy is based on your needs.

REBT is therapist led and focusses on the most problematic area impacting your life. The ethos of REBT is that people are not directly disturbed by events, but by the way they experience and interpret those events. Most psychological and emotional disturbances stem from faulty, irrational thinking. You will be supported to develop a new, rational perspective and relationship with yourself.

CBT teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems. It focusses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and actions, however it does not focus on the root cause of your discomfort. CBT helps to identify triggers and a change of thinking and behaviour.

It is the NHS’s preferred medical model of talking therapy.
